EQUUS HEADQUARTERS | PATIO

CLIENT: Equus Capital Partners

TYPE: Office Building

LOCATION: Newtown Square, PA

STATUS: Completed Spring 2018

The Equus Headquarters was inspired by a barn-style architecture and was constructed with earthy materials including reclaimed wood, locally sourced stone, and custom wood flooring. The open concept cafe extends to an outdoor terrace, which boasts features such as a practice putting green, an outdoor kitchen for entertaining and catering, a louvered-powered overhead structure for use on rainy days, a tranquil water feature that subdues adjacent campus roadways, and universal seating areas to accomodate a variety of work-place activites. Several of the building materials such as stone to reclaimed wood, flow into the terrace to create a unified landscape.

The entire terrace is embraced by a diverse, inviting planting palette. Primarily a native landscape, the plantings were sculpted to create an intimate setting and buffer while supporting the local environment and wildlife. From fragrant catmint that flows over stone walls to native meadow grasses, the terrace is a calm oasis for employees to relax before heading back to work.
