At the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Van Buren Avenue, the Stuart team created an elevated Azek deck that overlooks the Van Buren corporate complex. By incorporating a glass railing, the view off of the deck is unobstructed and allows the viewer to take in the neighboring landscapes. Providing a roll up door in the architecture, the design team created a seamless connection to the outdoor amenity space for work place collaboration or breaks for lunch.
The grade was mitigated with a less than 3 to 1 slope and naturalistic boulders that created pockets for native trees, shrubs, perennials, and grasses. Utilizing the grade, the Azek walnut deck is separated from the streetscape.
